When Sci-fi meets Fantasy by TARGETE When Sci-fi meets Fantasy by TARGETE
I wrote an article on my blog about the genres of Sci-fi and fantasy and what I like about them. I wanted to create an illustration just for my own pleasure that depicted the two genres meeting one another literally. You can check out the article here

and feel free to post your thoughts and ideas on the subject, which do you like the best Sci-fi or Fantasy?

I think your "fantasy" images are closer to the truth of all the various creatures throughout the universe. Your style is lovely.

You know, I read in a book once (The name of the book escapes me) That sci-fi is stories of the mind, and Fantasy is stories of the heart.

Wonderful picture by the way.

Idk why Sci Fi and fantasy are different... Well. I mean I do know, but I often find them so close together sometimes that it would be hard to separate them. I will definitely pick Sci Fi over fantasy tho because, well, space! Wonderful piece tho! Really quite fantastic and shows the different pieces without having it be obvious. :)

Fantasy is cool but I personally prefer sci-fi since it tends to have more of a social satire aspect that I like. Also, it allows us to safely explore the possible consequences of future technologies without necessarily fucking things up in real life. I find that sci-fi is easier to relate to; a lot of the stories have some sort of direct connection to our world. It's better at making you think. And I completely agree that people should research some actual mythology and apply it to their fantasy stories to make them more interesting, instead of just ripping off Tolkien.

I like both, which is why I like Warhammer 40,000 because it has intergalactic warfare alongside warp-magic. I often times think (and i'm sure it's been confirmed) that WH40k incorporated every timeless concept from popular fiction in the 1980's to 90's. Also the entire warhammer franchise is the illegitimate father of a couple of popular games like warcraft, starcraft and halo
And looking at your art gallery I can say that you have un-officially made a lot of artwork that would fit comfortably into warhammer 40k's style.
